Glen Ivy Hot Springs is by far the best luxury spa I have ever been to. And I couldn’t believe it was only a 1 hour drive from Los Angeles! If you are looking to treat yourself and enjoy a relaxing day, I could not recommend this spa more. They offer a multitude of spa treatments and therapies, healthy dining options, 17 different pools and baths, including the Club Mud mud bath, and daily fitness classes. There are free lockers to store all of your belongings, and in the locker room there’s separate mens and women’s Roman Baths and steam rooms.

Fun fact – admission is free on your birthday if you pay for a spa service! Check out their website for more information, and take a look at my IG Reel for a quick overview of everything Glen Ivy has to offer.

Spa Treatments

Make sure you book your appointment in advance! I would recommend 3-4 weeks in the winter, and 4-6 weeks in the summer; spots fill up quickly and there are usually no same-day appointments available. I got the aromatherapy massage, and I am not kidding when I say it is the best Swedish massage I have ever had. I cannot remember the last time I felt that relaxed and peaceful. Especially leaving the massage and coming out to the beautiful greenery all around and continuing our spa day. It was perfect.

Dining Options

There are a couple of different cafés and restaurants that offer breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, frozen yogurt and drinks! Yes, you can purchase alcohol here to enjoy throughout the day! Although ,we did not have any drinks. The spa can be so dehydrating – you have to make sure to drink a TON of water throughout the day! We got lunch at Ivy Kitchen & Marketplace – I had a turkey club sandwich and my boyfriend had the burger. They both came with sweet potato WAFFLE fries and were so yummy omg I love waffle fries haha I was so happy. We ate right after our spa services too so it was extra rewarding and delicious!

Pools and Baths

There are SO many different pool and bath options (17 to be exact) it was almost overwhelming at first! When we first got to Glen Ivy Hot Springs, we started in the Hot & Cold Cycle Pools. OMG. What you are supposed to do is spend 5 minutes in the hot pool, which is set at 102° – 104℉, and then spend 45 – 60 seconds in the cold pool which is set at 60° – 65℉. And repeat this cycle five times. I only did two cycles, and spent maybe 15 seconds in the cold pool! It was my first time ever doing a cold plunge and man was it cold! I definitely need to build up a tolerance, but it was really exhilarating and energizing. The hydrotherapy experience is intended to help increase your circulation to eliminate toxins.

After this, we spent some time in the Mineral Baths, which will also help improve circulation and reduce stress. It was another warm 102° – 104℉ bath in geothermal waters, and you could really smell the sulfurous aroma of the mineral water. This one was nice because we got our own little mini-tub where it was just the two of us. If you can sort of see in the photo, there is one larger group bath, and then 6 total mini-baths, 3 on each side. I would definitely recommend waiting for one of the private ones, or getting here early enough when there is no wait!

We also spent a little bit of time in the Lap Pool, the Saline Pool and the Vista Pool. The Lap Pool is nice, because it is set to a more in-between temperature at 80° – 85℉, if you want something heated but not too hot.

Club Mud

This was personally one of my favorite baths, mostly because I felt like a little kid playing in the mud. The red clay mud gently reduces impurities and exfoliates your skin. In Club Mud there are heaters you can stand near while you allow the mud to dry on your skin, and showers so you can rinse it all off after. Also as a side note, the red clay can stain your bathing suit so make sure to wear an older suit, or a dark colored suit!

Daily Fitness Classes

Glen Ivy offers both water (yoga and sound baths) and land (aqua aerobics) classes throughout the day. These are all included with your price of admission, and they will text you the schedule once you get to the spa. You can also check out their calendar on their website before you go to help plan your day!

Drop a comment if you have any questions for me about Glen Ivy Hot Springs in general or about my experience! All in all, this was an amazing day retreat and I will definitely be going back in the near future. They offer special deals all the time, so keep your eyes peeled if you are interested and looking to treat yourself! And don’t forget to subscribe to follow along for more.
